Along South Broadway in Saratoga Springs, New York, SCS Decor has built a reputation as, in its own words, the Capital District’s largest retailer of quality used furnishings, a claim backed by a sprawling inventory that spans nearly every room of the house. Formally known as Saratoga Consignment Studio, the shop operates on a straightforward consignment model: local sellers bring in furniture and decor they no longer need, and shoppers browse a constantly refreshed floor of pre-owned pieces at a fraction of new retail prices.
The category range here is unusually broad for a single storefront. Living room and bedroom furniture sit alongside full dining sets, lighting fixtures, outdoor and patio pieces, rugs, curtains, and smaller decorative accessories. Vintage furniture gets particular attention, as does a selection of Adirondack-themed decor that nods to the shop’s location near the base of upstate New York’s mountain region. Architectural salvage pieces and goods from local artisans, including handmade soaps, round out an inventory that treats the shop as much as a design resource as a straightforward secondhand store.
Location and access are part of what make SCS Decor a practical stop for Saratoga Springs shoppers and sellers alike. The store sits at 3306 South Broadway, keeping regular hours Tuesday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with Mondays closed. Notably, the business also operates as a U-Haul dealer on site, a detail that makes it genuinely convenient for customers who need to move a newly purchased dresser or dining table the same day they buy it, without arranging separate delivery logistics.
That dual identity, furniture retailer and moving-equipment dealer, is one of the clearer differentiators separating SCS Decor from a standard consignment boutique. It signals a business built around the practical logistics of furnishing a home, not just the aesthetics of browsing a showroom. Sellers interested in consigning their own furniture can reach the shop directly at 518-450-1363 or by email, and the business maintains an active presence on Facebook and Instagram under the handle saratogaconsignmentstudio, where new arrivals are frequently posted between in-person visits.
For anyone furnishing a home in the Saratoga Springs area, whether outfitting a first apartment, updating a living room, or searching for a specific vintage accent piece, SCS Decor offers the kind of scale and variety that smaller consignment shops in the region typically cannot match. The mix of furniture, decor, salvage, and artisan goods under one roof, paired with straightforward weekday and weekend hours and an on-site moving resource, makes it a practical anchor point for secondhand shopping in the Capital District. SCS Decor in Saratoga Springs, New York is a large-scale consignment furniture and home decor retailer where affordable pre-owned furnishings, local artisan goods, and on-site U-Haul rental combine under one Capital District roof.
